From Early Nutrition to Confident School Transitions
The Problem We Are Solving
As reflected in our long-term work, early childhood education remains one of the most neglected stages in underserved communities.
According to our field experience and data:
- There is an estimated 40-point enrolment gap in early childhood education before children enter primary school
- Children often reach Class 1 without exposure to structured early learning, language development, or socialisation
- Health, nutrition, and early learning operate as disconnected systems, despite being deeply interdependent
When early childhood needs are unmet, learning gaps appear before formal schooling begins—and continue to widen over time.
How Kisholoy Responds
Kisholoy was designed to address this gap through a holistic early childhood development model, supporting children from ages 3 to 6 and through their transition into formal schooling.
Our integrated approach includes:
- Play-based early learning to build cognitive, social, and emotional foundations
- Health and nutrition linkages, recognising that learning outcomes are inseparable from well-being
- School readiness and transition support, reducing early dropout and adjustment anxiety
- Continuous engagement with parents and caregivers, strengthening adult understanding of early childhood development
By addressing learning, health, and adult support together, Kisholoy prepares children to succeed in school and beyond.
Impact
- 22+ years of sustained service
- 300+ children supported through early learning
- Proven continuity through COVID-19 and beyond
